As part of our run-up to the Etsy Christmas pop-up shop at the end of this month, we’d like to introduce some of our sellers to you. We asked them a few questions about their shop, how they became an Etsy seller and their golden tips for online success!
This episode: Sharon from SheepMaySafelyGraze
Sharon makes beautiful pieces of original jewellery, made from her own hand spun wool. She spins the fibre, knits it into beads, which are then felted and strung into wonderful necklaces and earrings.
How did you choose your shop name?
This is my favourite Bach tune, and as my pieces are hand spun, it felt just right.
How did you decide to be an Etsy Seller?
I love making jewellery, and want my pieces to be available to anyone who appreciates the craft and work that goes into producing original, hand crafted pieces. I felt that Etsy was the market place to find such people and artists.
What do you love most about your products?
Making the whole piece from first principles. I choose the fibre, spin it into yarn, then knit the beads which are put together in a variety of ways to make up into beautiful pieces of jewellery
What have been your biggest challenges in running an Etsy Shop?
Remembering, and making the time, to upload new pieces. Sometimes it is too easy to get caught up in the making, you almost forget the marketing!
What are your best tips for running an Etsy shop?
Being sincere about your product, and ensuring the descriptions are full and accurate.
Come meet Sharon, and our other sellers at the Fountain Inn, 12 Regent Street, Cambridge!
